My Garden Designs marry aesthetic landscaping with elegant planting and lighting. The result of investing in a full design service, is an inspiring outdoor space that reflects your aspirations, tastes, and budget.

By establishing a clear brief, I will ensure your requirements are properly incorporated. Based on a detailed survey and assessment of your garden, I will work closely with you, using moodboards, aerial plans, and sketches to help you imagine your new garden. 

At the end of this process you can expect high quality industry-standard, scale landscape and planting plans, ready for you, or your builder or landscaper to realise.

Whether it is re-planting an area of your existing garden, or planning a planting scheme for a newly landscaped space, my planting plans draw together three key elements - your preferences; the plants that will thrive in the conditions you have in your garden; and your budget. If there is a mismatch between these then I can advise and develop planting schemes accordingly. 

Whilst planting is a key element of a full design, I am very happy to receive commissions for planting only, as a separate service - for existing areas. I can cost, source and plant the plants for you, or leave you to plant your garden using my professional planting plan if you wish.

My consultation service is particularly useful if you're finding your garden overwhelming, or your budget is limited, so you want to phase improvements over a period of time. Or if you need to prioritise maintenance tasks. 

Perhaps you know what you want, but lack the gardening know-how to achieve it and just need some advice to set you on the right path...

Maybe you need ideas for a quick fix/re-style, in time to sell a property. 

I offer a tailored garden assessment and consultation service which can include; 

• a written report detailing your garden's potential and giving professional practical advice on improvements and maintenance
• a landscaping design idea or landscaping materials options for part or all of the garden
• planting plans to refresh problem areas

Garden lighting can entirely change the way you use and experience your garden. Lighting is a wonderful way to showcase key garden features such as trees and structures. Whether you want to create a cosy stylish "garden room" for entertaining, install practical safety and security lighting on steps and at entranceways, highlight trees and shrubs, or even light a pond with underwater fittings - I can advise on all aspects. 

 I offer bespoke garden lighting plans to suit your budget, ensuring you get the right lighting effects for your needs. My plans give consideration to how the lighting will be experienced both from inside and outside the property and consider the effect on garden wildlife. I can help you select and source all types of garden lighting - from budget outdoor rated (IP66) "plug and play" systems, fairy lights, festoon lights, right the way up to to high end, permanent garden light fittings, with superb longevity. I can also design structures and supports to accommodate lighting in all parts of your garden. I will introduce you to experienced, reliable electrical contractors for installation.

Garden lighting is often included in my full designs but can also be provided as a stand-alone service. 

In collaboration with Connected Abodes (www.connectedabodes.co.uk) I can design zoned garden lighting that is compatible with the Lutron smart-home system.
